It’s that time of week again. Anyone for a writing experiment?
With all the new tools out there to monitor book sales and blurbs mentioned about their books, I’m going to highlight a new book each week. I’ll post it in the morning. If by the end of the day that author finds her book on this post I want her or him to tell us how they discovered it; word of mouth through the close network of writers, a Yahoo group mention, or through some new fangled Google tool.
Now, how will I choose this book each week? It will be a book that caught my attention. As a reader, I will keep an eye out for something that either provoked me to read the blurb, look at the author’s blog, or purchase said book.
Before I reveal my choice I want to clarify that this author has no idea that I’ve chosen his/her book.
And this week’s mystery book is:
Blurb from Goodreads:
As future Queen and Guardian of the Elements, Princess Skylather’cha’eab thought her worst nightmare was the impending find-a-husband party until events take an ominous turn. Now she must put her life at risk to save her Kingdom. Armed with only a staff, a bow, and her wits, Skyla’s world is turned upside-down when she enters the Crossroads and encounters the beast she’s destined to kill. Does she have the courage to sort truth from lie, or will she die not knowing who betrayed her?
I discovered this book when visiting blogs. I noticed her book release announcement and the cover. Then I read the blurb and discovered it was my kind of read. Now, it’s a brand new release so there are no reviews yet.
What do you think? Does the book sound interesting? I’ll confess I’ve already ordered it.

Sounds good. I like the cover, simple yet it stands out. Hope she finds the book.
Oh, wow! I’m shocked! Thanks, Ciara.
I subcribe to your blog by email and always check out your book recommendations!
And Laura was quick to notice that you noticed! Good for her.
Savannah – I love the simplicity of the cover, too.
Laura – Wow, you found your book fast!
It’s good to know you are visiting my blog. I honestly didn’t realize you were on email subscription. Oh well, I love the book and I NOTICED it. Thanks for participating.
Alex – Yep, she was quick.
What a cool idea, Ciara! We’re all big fans of Laura Eno and your experiment couldn’t start with a finer author.
Oooh I wonder if it’s a “Beauty and the Beast” type story, it sounds really good.
This is a lovely thing you’re doing for fellow writers, Ciara. A beautiful day to you.
Cathy – I’m glad you like my series.
Hildie – You know, that is an interesting point.
Suze – I’m glad you like it.
Beautiful cover. Another great choice!
I’ve bought it after reading the sample. I’ll upload a review later.
Anything involving a woman wielding staff, bow, and her wits on a journey to save the world is something I’d love to read. Great pick and she already noticed! LOL
I like this blogging experiment. I have had unexpected visits from people somehow related to topics about which I’ve written or who had some sort of special interest in them and it’s cool to know that what we put on our blogs is getting out there.
I’ll be watching for your upcoming “Notice Your Book” features. This is fun. Glad Laura jumped on it so quickly, but the fact that she subscribed to your blog made it too easy.

Tossing It Out
Jillian – I agree. Loved your 7 things today.
LJ – Let us know your thoughts.
Danica – I agree. Gotta love a strong heroine on a journey.
Arlee – Yes, Laura found it quick. I honestly didn’t realize she was on email subscription, but that won’t make a difference. No rules on Noticing a good book around here.
Thanks for participating.
Oh that cover is intriguing. The blurb sounds a bit like a fantasy/sci-fi beauty and the beast. I’ll definitely check it out.
On a side note Ciara, if my TBR pile wasn’t mostly digital right now your recommendations would collapse it!!
I love the beautiful simplicity of the cover. Looks like another for the TBR pile.
Raelyn – I agree. I think the cover is awesome and the blurb gives that feel to me too.
Lindsay – Let us know what you think after you read it.
Just put the book on my Kindle. You know Ciara, either people are going to have to start buying Target Identified or I’m going to have to get a second job to pay for all the super books you spotlight. Of course, I’d prefer the first option-buy my book.
I love this blog series–so cool!
Laura – I’m glad you like it.
You always find such great books…
Followed the blog trail here from Laura’s … interesting idea, however, if I tried that, the author might consider it a curse to be noticed.
I love the cover. And I also like Laura! This is a lovely spotlight. I’m heading back to her place now to tell her I enjoyed reading it.
Savannah – I’m glad you like it.
Christopher – Nice to meet you. Why would you say that?
Ann – I’m glad you enjoyed! Laura is awesome.
You may have ordered the book like I did but I’ve started reading it and am so totally absorbed by the characters especially Izzy. What an attitude. A real whirlwind.
Lidsay – I’m so excited. If it’s okay, I’m going to put up a post about your comment later today when I return from my writers meeting.
Go right ahead. Just remember to put the ‘n’ in my name
