Did I Notice Your Book?

It’s that time of week again. Anyone for a writing experiment?

With all the new tools out there to monitor book sales and blurbs mentioned about their books, I’m going to highlight a new book each week. I’ll post it in the morning. If by the end of the day that author finds her book on this post I want her or him to tell us how they discovered it; word of mouth through the close network of writers, a Yahoo group mention, or through some new fangled Google tool.

Now, how will I choose this book each week? It will be a book that caught my attention. As a reader, I will keep an eye out for something that either provoked me to read the blurb, look at the author’s blog, or purchase said book.

Before I reveal my choice I want to clarify that this author has no idea that I’ve chosen his/her book.

The book I chose was: Perigee Moon by Tara A. Fuller

After a horrific fire claims the life of her mother, seventeen year old Rowan Bliss finds herself in the miniscule town of Ipswich, Massachusetts.  It’s here that she meets Alex, a deliciously mysterious boy who holds the key to unlocking her family’s dark secret.

As Rowan falls helplessly over the edge for Alex, the secrets that he insists on keeping refuse to be contained, and the truth that she uncovers challenges everything she has ever believed. Alex is a witch. And now he’s awakened something within her she never even knew existed. But out of all of this, the one thing Rowan won’t accept is the fact that Alex is destined to die.

Now Rowan must unearth the buried power she harbors within to escape a deadly prophecy, defy the very laws of time, and prevent the hands of fate from taking yet another person she loves.

This book was a recomendation from someone who read it in one day. I was like, really? In one day? She said, “Yes.” Sold. That is about the highest recomendation there is. Okay, I still went and read the blurb. :) I love a good YA story, so I think this one is going on my TBR pile.

How about you? Will you give this book a try? Have you read it? If so, please share your thoughts.

Ya see, this is why I love the writing community; writers going out of their way to help other writers. Thank you Ciara.
YA isn’t really my cup of tea, but the blurb sounds interesting. I have it on my TBR list.

What a very cool idea! Such an original twist on featuring books and supporting writers. But to answer your question, no I wouldn’t pick it up but only because I don’t read much YA. And if a cover says YA to me, I’m likely to avoid it unless it has something really different and compelling to make me try it

Does Goodreads have a limit on how many books I can add to my TBR list? NO? That’s a bad thing. This blurb and the recommendation (read in one day) has my attention.
