Guest Eva Shade

Eva, thank you so much for taking the time to be interviewed here today. I know you are extremely busy! I, of course, have a vested interest in this new endeavor of moving The Knights of the Round Table over to Goodreads, so I wanted to share you with my blogging friends. :)

Tell us a little about yourself? Is Eva your real name?

I’m a mom on a mission. I LOVE books!!! When Julie told me about Goodreads it was like finding out I won a new car. I mean what a great place for readers.  I read Ciara’s posts and I enjoyed the KotRT reviews, so when she talked about possibly moving it off her blog onto Goodreads I was excited. I’ve wanted to get more involved in the reading world, and this seemed like a perfect opportunity.

No, Eva Shade is a pseudo name. I wanted to use something that gave me some flexibility and freedom. I’d like to keep this life separate from my ‘mom’ world. Also, I have an idea based on some past PR experience that I’m considering pursuing and I’d like to avoid the daily conversations that steer toward business. I like to keep my life compartmentalized and not blur anything together. I’m an organization freak, just ask Ciara and Julie.

Yes, I can contest to that. We must have spent about 40 hours just organizing a ‘plan’ for the new KotRT group on Goodreads. I’m hoping some of your mad organizational skills rub off on me. :) What are some things you like to do besides reading?

Um, besides reading? Hmm…well my crazy friends Ciara and Julie have taken me on hikes and I enjoy that. I also enjoy movies, TV, and spending time with family.  I love all things Italian, and dream of going to Italy someday. I have a new love for computers. I’ve enjoyed Ciara showing me how to work with various programs and it’s exciting to realize there is an entire new world out there I look forward to experiencing.

Julie has me into reading a lot of great new authors. I love the fresh writing and ‘voice’. (A term Ciara taught me about). I didn’t even know there was such a thing as a sub-genre until last year. Oh, and Julie, Ciara and I are finally going to read a Karen Marie Moning book. Yay!

I love Italian food. Oh, and I’ve been to Italy twice. It is amazing, but there is so much to see I WANT to go back. Girl’s trip? :)  Eva, I’ve never seen anyone, who had limited computer experience, learn so much so fast. You’ve got some mad skills, girl.

One last question, are you an author?

Ha, no way, my talents do not fall there. I LOVE the written word, but I’m never going to attempt a book.  My talents fall elsewhere in the world of books. That’s where I’ll focus in the future.

Thanks so much for being here today, Eva. You are doing a fantastic job with the KotRT group on Goodreads. You’ve already booked authors out through Labor Day. Wow!

Today is a big day over at the KotRT group on Goodreads. If you love to read jump on over and take a free copy of a book in exchange for review. It’s that easy.

Any questions for Eva? I know she has a busy day, but I’m sure she’ll pop in to answer anything you guys might want to know.

I love Italy too! I went a couple of years ago and would love to go back. Such beauty. And I love history too. :-)

I don’t read, but I’m going to check out the Goodreads group. If anyone there is up for an urban fantasy romance with lots of swearing, sex, and violence, I got your hook-up. :-)
