Cover Art

I just received a mock-up for my Escapement cover. It is FABULOUS!! I’m so excited to share it with you, but I’m not going to. He he. Sorry, you’ll have to wait a bit longer. An early release is set for Kindle on February 25th. It looks like that will be happening. Yay! :)

Editing

I’m working diligently on edits for Escapement. I’ve learned one VALUABLE lesson during this project. NEVER switch form Hero/Heroine 3rd person to 1st heroine. OMG, talk about a nightmare. Oh well, it’ll all be done right in the end.

Did you notice? I posted all three days this week. Hey, that is news. LOL

DINYB Recap

On Wednesday I highlighted a Steampunk novel, The Lazarus Machine by Paul Crilley. I’m afraid he did not find his book. :( Oh well, maybe next time. I think I’m going to give the book a try, though.

Winner

On December 17, 2012, Lindi Peterson was a guest on my blog. She has offered a signed print copy of Summer’s Song to someone who left a comment.
The winner is: Tara Tyler! Congratulations, Tara. Contact me, or Lindi Peterson to claim your prize.

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. Have any big plans? Are you keeping up with those New Year goals? Am I a big meanie for not sharing the new cover? Just checking to see if you are paying attention.

I completely understand your woes on switching POV. Happy Friday!

  2. Can’t wait to see the cover! And I can’t imagine switching point of view like that.
    Congratulations to Tara!

  3. slamdunk says:

Congrats to Tara–great way to end a week.

And nicely done with the 3 posts as it sounds like you are wearing many writing hats over there.

    Enjoy your weekend Ciara.

  4. L.G.Smith says:

Ugh. I once tried going from past tense to present tense with a ms, and it got so confusing…I finally had to go back and change everything to the way it was. Won’t try that again.

  5. Don’t tease us! LOL

Wow. Changing POV. I bet you ARE pulling your hair out.
But if it’s what the story needs… ;)

  6. Congratulations on Escapement! I can’t wait to see the cover. Have a great weekend! :)

  7. Isis Rushdan says:

Switching from 3rd to 1st pov must be a nightmare! Couldn’t imagine going through it, lol.

  8. Happy Friday, Ciara! Can’t wait for your reveal. The p.o.v. thing sounds a nightmare. It must be hard to make sure you change every little thing.

  9. Laura Eno says:

    You’re such a tease! ;)

Ugh. Switching POV from 3rd to 1st in something that long would be excrutiating. Hope you come out of it with all your marbles.

    Congrats to Tara!

  10. I am going to be preparing for my e-book launch this weekend (it’s on Tuesday) two friends and a daughter coming to spend it with me, so it’s going to be a happy time! Oh and I have book club too!! Enjoy yours WBFF!!

  13. Ooooh, can’t wait to see the cover. I switched from third to first for a short story once and thought I’d lose it…can’t imagine doing a longer piece. Good luck with edits!

  14. Yes, you’re a big meanie :)
And with what mean bone in your body would that be? It’s a great hook to keep us coming back!

    Happy Weekend!

  19. Lindi P says:

I can’t wait to see your cover. I know it’s going to be awesome. :) Talking about POV Summer’s Song went from third to first–yes-crazy–but so glad I did it. Congrats, Tara! Looking forward to getting you a copy.

  20. PK Hrezo says:

    Oh exciting! Congrats!
I’ve gone from 3rd to 1st in a story revamp before and it was a HUGE task, but turned out way better than it was. But then, I also went from adult to YA, so a lot of rewriting had to be done. Ugh.

  21. Misha says:

Oooh I’m so excited to see your new cover.

    Congrats, Tara!

  22. Lexa Cain says:

All my books have been in 3rd, but I notice most YA is now in 1st. I wonder if the switch was your idea or the editor’s, and I live in fear if my book ever sells I’ll have to change it like you did. Eek! lol

  23. Allison says:

Well you are a tease! I really like the Weighted cover.

  24. How exciting! (The new cover, not the editing). Good luck to you and Congratulations to Tara!

  25. I can’t wait to see the book cover! I’m sure it will be amazing. I also like Hildie’s book. It looks great at an angle like that.

  26. Michael Pierce says:

I can imagine changing POV in the editing process would be rather tedious to say the least. Can’t wait to see the cover! it’s coming out in less than a month…that is so soon! :)
