“I was so anxious to start this book, especially after the ending of Pendulum. Balance picked up right where Pendulum ended. This was a great ending to the series. I was so happy with how the adventure ended. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions. This book had me crying. I couldn’t believe some of the things that happened. I hated how Ryder and Semara treated each other throughout the first half of the book. I also hated that Semara had to make the difficult decisions involved with leading a revolution. She had to basically decide who lived and who died. I was so happy that Semara and Harrison were able to form a relationship after being apart for so long, even if it was more warlike than loving. I’m so glad I took a chance on this series. I absolutely loved it. It ended perfectly. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author.”

“A final installment in a series can either make or break the whole series for me. I feel that I am capable of saying that the final installment made this series. The characters face a very real, long and hard battle with the Queen and her forces in this book. We get to see if the rebellion or the Queen comes out victorious and who gives their life for their cause. There is much that I could say about this book but it would give too much away.

The characters and the world building are still my favorite part of the book but the storyline is awesome as well. I hated to see the series end and I hope that the author will consider revisiting the world with maybe other characters or something.

The only thing I did not like was I was able to predict who was going to die in it. This was not a big thing as I still did not know how or when but I prefer to not be able to predict what happens. On the other hand the author was able to keep me in the dark about the many other things with the rebellion.

All in all the final story as well as the entire series was awesome and I am glad that I had an opportunity to read and review this series.”

“Having read the previous books in this series, I knew I had to read Balance. I loved the others and had so many unanswered questions and the desire to know what was going to happen. This book was the best and I just could not put it down, it grabbed me and kept me reading to finish reading it in record time for me.

I love the characters; you meet Semara and Rauth as 12 year olds in Weighted and mostly follow the main character, Semara, throughout the series. You watch Semara struggle with guilt, self-doubt, insecurity, courage, and learning how to lead and love. You see Rauth blossom into a young woman overcoming so much. Ryder is another character who grows throughout the series to find himself, in the end, able to become the man he is meant to be. There are other characters both on the side of good that you meet, see grow and love. Then there are those evil characters who are just as developed. That says a lot, to me, about the author that she can develop the evil characters with enough depth that they are not just foils for the good characters but have a life of their own in the story.

This book is very action filled so that you never know what is going to happen next. It is full of suspense and mystery. You learn that there is more to the prophecy about the triune and that keeps you wondering until the end –no more about that — don’t want to spoil anything for you. Besides the action, there is also the quieter side of the book as the characters grow and learn about themselves, their friends and family, as well as their enemies. It has more than enough of the non-action stuff filled with enough emotions to keep you interested. The characters experience a wide range of emotions: love, hate, jealousy, compassion, betrayal, fear, sorrow, happiness and anger, just to name a few. This story shows the human side of the characters and even the heroes have flaws.

This is truly a must read especially if you read the previous books because you will just love this one. There is a lot more to say but I am trying to be very careful to make sure I don’t spoil it for you.”
